Coming soon: a local energy management system for your home

OptimaSolar will introduce the Currentt Navigator at the end of the third quarter or the beginning of the fourth quarter. This smart local energy management system has been specifically developed for the residential market and SMEs. With the Currentt Navigator, you can easily and efficiently control devices such as solar inverters, heat pumps, home batteries, EV charging stations, and air conditioners from various brands.

Now that the end of the net metering scheme for solar panels is approaching and feed-in charges are being introduced, it’s becoming increasingly important to use more of your self-generated solar power directly. In many households, direct consumption is still as low as 30%. An energy management system helps automate device control without any manual effort, boosting your energy savings and independence.

What makes Currentt unique?

Currentt is a universal system developed in the Netherlands and manufactured in Almelo. It has been extensively tested at multiple locations, including The Green Village at Delft University of Technology. Because it operates locally and does not rely on a cloud connection, the system continues to work even when the internet goes down. Cybersecurity is also optimally ensured thanks to its local architecture, making it virtually impossible for malicious parties to gain external access.

How does the Currentt Navigator work?

Currentt provides clear insight into your energy consumption and the output of your solar panels. It automatically switches on devices when surplus solar energy is available, reducing the need to feed electricity back into the grid. It also takes dynamic electricity rates into account, enabling you to charge your EV during cheaper periods, trade energy from your battery, or temporarily reduce or pause solar panel output. You determine which devices have priority.
